Hello everyone!! I'm new to wet shaving and need some advice on some good products that work for someone who has sensitive skin. I really enjoy the art of wet shaving!!
High their, @Brandon Sanders, glad you have joined us. May I suggest you try cold water shaving whatever else you may use as tools and product. Cold water involves just using the water that comes out of the cold side of your faucet. Wash your face with cold water, lather your product with cold water (I also suggest face-lathering by skipping the bowl), and rinse with cold water. It is both invigorating and reduces any irritation. Check out the Fellowship of Cold Water Shavers.
Hello, and welcome from Texas!! I will answer your questions, but first...What are your sensitivities, and what is your current set up (razor, brush, soap, Aftershave, etc.)?
Hi! Go grab a favorite beverage, something to munch on, get comfy and click this ---> http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/shave-school-master-sticky.16034/
Hey Brandon, welcome to the Den. You're gonna get some great advice and meet some great folks here. Once you have a basic set up and feel comfortable, may I suggest checking out the 30 Day Rule/Focus thread. I was a member for pretty much my first three months here, auditioning blades for my razors. I also picked up a lot of other knowledge. Whatever you decide to do, jump on in and enjoy your shaves!
I would focus on techniques and preparation rather than products. You will find a lot of info here. Things to explore: Do you wash your face beforehand? Do you rinse between passes? Have you tried pre-shave oil? a little cheap DIY pre-shave oil goes a long way. Which razor combinations have you tried? What pattern do you shave in? Have you looked at the different ways to make a lather (bowl, hand, face)? What is your after shave ritual? Welcome aboard.
Howdy!!!!! Small world. Good to see you around. You saw all the stuff I have. You will find a Lot of good people here. Oh it's Calvin by the way.
I have two Gillette safety razors, one long handled and one short handle, I forget the name of the soap. I like the smells of after shave but I can't use it due to it affecting my asthma
Hey Calvin. I was going to try and contact you but I didn't know how. Seeing all of your stuff inspired me greatly
I can't use after shave due to my asthma even though I enjoy the scents and wished I could. I shave in the pattern my facial hair grows. I have not tried pre shave oil. I have two gilletes. One short and one long handled
