I finished this project up today. A friend of mine has a set of seven, and one scale was broken so I made a fresh one to match up. Getting the colour right was a little tricky. I’m pretty happy with the result.
Thanks for all the compliments. The process is relatively simply, the basic outline is cut and then the shaping is done with a file, and then the file marks are sanded off, then it goes through a variety of hot baths to get colour. This set went through two baths, the first was espresso and tumeric and the second orange pekoe tea. As far as how long it takes, I did not do it all at once so the time guess is a little tough. I am going to guess between two and three hours.
