Since several of us have publicly stated we've sent our gifts out, I know several will be delivered soon. So, I thought I'd set us up with a thread for the Secret Santa Hauls.

Remember: lists are good, pics are great.

(My gift hasn't arrived as of the time I created this thread, but I'll post it when I get it.)

Good idea. Put a sticky on it so it stays at the top for a while.

I will post my gift as soon as it arrives and I know the present I sent has arrived at its destination, but the recipient is not going to open it until Christmas.

Ah man I'm conflicted! I just got mine in today, but I don't know if I should wait or not - I don't celebrate Christmas per sé, but Hanukkah isn't until the 20. I'm just not sure I have what it takes.

    It calls to me...

Well, in the end I just wasn't as strong a man as my father wanted me to be...and by "in the end" I mean later that night. At around 3 in the morning. Actually got out of bed, went upstairs to where the box was sitting, and grabbed my shavette/letter opener to satisfy the demons curiously clamoring in my head. One by one, the layers of wrapping over box over wrapping quickly fell away under the persistent attack of half a Voskhod, until...(cue drum entry from "In The Air Tonight")

Secret Santa, Hidden Chaim, whoever you are...thank you. Awesome awesome awesome. I couldn't wait to try it out, but I did because shaving in the middle of the night is poor form with house full of people. Next day prognosis - This is one awesome brush. I've often thought about owning a Simpsons, coveting them from a distance, wondering what all the fuss is about, and if they deserve all the attention they get.

They do (although to most of you this is old news). Overall, the brush reeks of quality. Compared to my other brushes (it's next to a TGN Silvertip and EJ Best) it's packed more densely, has more backbone (I suspect due to its short loft), and yet has softer tips. Definitely the softest brush I've used, it feels absolutely incredible. Also, because of its small size it's very precise, and though it takes a little longer to whip up, it actually retains quite a bit of lather. It had a wee bit of badger funk that was gone after a first quick lather and without any fuss whipped up enough lather for a four pass shave. Also I just love the look of the handle.

I'd been contemplating getting a travel brush for a little while now, and was thinking about settling on a Frank Shaving or Edwin Jagger screwy type. Having an EJ already and being able to compare it to this brush, I can't believe the difference and am sooo glad I waited. Thanks again, mysterious benefactor, for this great little brush. I'll be using it all week (at least).

It is a shame you don't know who sent it. Maybe they will advise and you can let us know.

Well, I don't know his name but from the postmark my Secret Santa lives in the area of Shawnee Mission, KS. All items I will use with pleasure plus some good coffee to try. It is much appreciated and gratefully accepted. And no, I don't feel one bit guilty opening this before Christmas. :)

Just an update 12-8-11: I could not resist and brewed up a pot of coffee. This sample was pretty darn good. Secret Santa, tell Mrs. Secret Santa thanks.:)

My gift came on Friday. It was sitting on the step when I got home. Needless to say I opened it up right away! Inside was a bowl of DR Harris Marlborough shave soap and a tub of TOBS almond shave cream! The sample of sea buckthorn was in there too! Thank you to my secret Santa who got me the Marlborough soap to go with the AS I already have! Both work wonderfully and yes I have already used both! Thanks again! These products are amazing and I love them!

I tried posting earlier and the site wouldn't connect for me. Back 10 minutes later and it's working.

So, I had a week of long days of physical work away from home. I'm tired and stressed. I come home to my Sectret Santa package and look what I've got:
    SS2011 Small.JPG

Of course, I had to use both products last night. I loaded the EJ DE86 with a Supermax and lathered the Trumpers Violet with my Knotty Erlenmeyer Silvertip.

I must say I'm VERY impressed with the quality and feel of the EJ razor. After the first couple strokes, the razor felt like I'd had it for years. The Trumper's lathered easily and made a very slick lather with a nice mild violet scent that lingered just a little after the shave.

After one shave, the EJ DE86 is being considered for best head shave razor. It may also get to the top for the face, but I had a stroke on the right side of my chin where I was touching up and came out with 4 weepers. Based on the rest of my face, I think I just need to learn the razor a little better. Using Merkur and Weishi razors had made me lean heavily to vintage razors in the past. This razor is making me reconsider (based on reviews I suspect it might).

Excellent treat after a long week. Thank-you very much Secret Santa!

Had an overseas package waiting for me in the mailbox today. Funny, I didn't know that Santa used Royal Air mail! ;) The package contained a pack of Voskhod blades (which I've been really wanting to try out), a package of Astra Superiors and a tub of Pecksniff's Shaving Soap. I'll put it all to good use.

Thank you so much to my Secret Santa! Everything is really appreciated.

Got home just now and saw a package waiting for me from Bullgoose. I said to myself, "That's weird, I don't remember ordering anything from Bullgoose this month. Maybe I got shipped something by accident."

Well, turns out it was a SECOND gift from my Secret Santa!!! I'm a big fan of Ogallala products.

Secret Santa, whomever you are, thank you so much! I truly appreciate everything and promise to put it all to good use.

Forgive me I was weak and the temptation of unopened parcel was too much. I know I should have waited I could not wait. DSC_0790.JPG
