The utility room is a mess. Been spending many days trying to clean and organize the utility rooms and greenhouse, and ended up having a really wonderful surprise. Above the workbench, my father had these parts organizers that hold screws, nuts, bolts, etc. One of them held a really great surprise. Eight old razors that my father and I, when I was a whipersnapper, had used. Five of them are old Gillette double edges, one GEM single edge, and two Techmatics. I HAD to learn to shave on one of the double edged razors. Already shaved with the brass razor (a ball tech?) and it shaved beautifully. The mechanics on all of them are flawless after all these years; now to clean them up. What a great day!
Wow! That is super cool!! And it look like almost all the bases are covered - TTO, Adjustable, 3-Piece, Injector, SE. Very nice!!!
What you've got: GEM 1912 SE 2 x Gillette Slim Adjustables Gillette 40's style superspeed Gillette Flare Tip Superspeed Gillette Ball Handled NEW - the gold one 2 x Gillette Techmatics - Band cartridge razors (not injectors)
Awesome find. I feel like having a family lot of razors eases RAD. At least for me, knowing that no other razors are going to mean as much to me. Congrats on the find buddy.
Congratulations on your "FANTASTIC" discovery....Having family heirlooms like those is certainly priceless...
Wow. My dad doesn't keep anything, so I'm out of luck. Looking forward to some pics and stories after you clean them up and start using them.
What a great legacy Dad left for you! How cool is that, to be able to think of Dad while engaging in our so-enjoyable pursuit of wet-shaving!
