I completely forgot about this also being at Big Lots. I remember reading about a DE razor being sold there, but dismissed it completely.

The razor itself is "mid-tier"(?) for a Chinese razor. Not as nice as the Weishi, but well above the Nanjie. (I swear there must be a Chinese machine tools company which sells the bits to make this particular TTO design as a package.)

The blade is the big surprise. Although a few decent blades do come out of China, they don't generally make it into Dollar Store razors. At this price point, you usually get a blade which is better suited scraping off pro-Democratic Western propaganda from car windows (or which are specially made for dopey Americans who will buy anything). This one, however, is actually usable. Not great, but usable.

That's as close to a spreadsheet as I get when documenting my use of software & hardware. I may refer to it to make sure I rotate my soaps and brushes.

Not great, but usable is an apt description.

Today I used the Cattarangus razor I used last week, after reseting the bevel on my Arkansas stones. Also used a new soap. It's a Lavender based soap, and the scent is amazing. Performance is good as well, I prefer this vegan formula to thier normal tallow based one.

Love this pic and setup. That's a soap I have wanted to try. Lavender is growing on me.

Today's shave was as smooth as yesterday was rough. I think it was the blade that needed to be broke in a bit. You also get that in other blades as well, some SE and Injector blades come to mind. After three passes I am left with a good shave and I am happy with it. Not the closest shave I have had but a smooth one all the same. On the plus side, it was better than yesterday’s offering.
