I see a lot of different uses in the various responses. Mt response was for a lather mug/bowl, not for storage of a puck.
I bowl lather and use the smaller tins from Stirling for all my pucks (except for Route 66). I sometimes have to work a little and make them fit.
Don't use mugs as I prefer either face lathering or a shave bowl to give me more room for the 30mm knots to lather Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
Good size for a Dopp bag when traveling. I did use a Zaxby's take out container for soap that I made.
I got a soup mug and I like those dimensions. But I've seen some soup bowls in the dollar store that have the apothecary bar-style handle, rather than the mug-loop. I always thought that would be nice to give a try.
I love the heavy-duty Route 66 mug….its a keeper! I'm tempted to use it for morning coffee once the puck is gone…
Mine is 6" x 6" x 6". Its small enough that most pucks fit well with minimal grating/melting and is big enough that I can still use it for making lather.
I start building my lather on top of the soap puck. The Stirling jars are about 3 1/2 inches and seem like a perfect size to me. In the past, I've placed pucks in wooden bowls (I don't trust myself with glass or ceramic in the bathroom) and they're about 3", not quite as nice as a Stirling jar.
I use a lather bowl frequently for hard to lather soaps. The ideal bowl size is 4 1/2 in. Wide and 1 1/4 in. Deep.
Would have been nice if I'd remembered to add my comment in my first attempt to reply! Anyway, very cool shot of the mug and other goodies Kevin!
