I'd had that in my watch list for a while. I'm glad to see that a fellow DENizen got it. Sent from my KFAPWI using Tapatalk
@John Ruschmeyer I had it on watch for a long time. It really looked rough. All the rust and gunk was the blade for the most part though. No problems with the clean up. Wonderful shaver.
Another Williams shave yesterday, and another knockout lather! Gathered it up thick and pasty off the puck (cake?), face lathered and slowly added in water, and was greeted with a perfectly slick, dense, wet result. The ER 1914 was a bang-up combination for this lather! At a buck-n-change and available at my local supermarket, there's no reason NOT to have Williams in my den.
That is the perfect way to do it. I kinda chuckle at the guys that dump a bunch of water on the cake. If you want to bloom something plant a rose bush. (Glares at @ordinaryshaver )
I chuckle too when after blooming my soaps, I have the most incredible, hydrated, slick, lovely lather on the planet.
Don't be jealous. You too can apply for membership in S.B.O.A. The screening process is easy. Just ask @Paul Turner
What memories we have!!! I didn't throw it out right when I got it, but that led to the problem...waiting too long before trying it. I waited until the cake looked like its own great-grandmother. Bad!
I figure I'm still on probation with the Williams club. However, in my dedense it's better to bloom Williams instead of not using Williams at all.
SOTD 4.20.2018 Pre-shave: Hot COFFEE & a hot shower Brush: RazoRock synthetic Soap: Williams Razor: Gillette Fatboy E-4 on #9 Blade: German Wilkinson-Sword (2) Post-shave: Dickinson's Original WH, Nivea Men Sensitive PS Balm, Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla AS The more I use the Williams the more I love it. It just felt so nice on my face this morning.
Couldn't agree more wholeheartedly. There's just SOMETHING that's so enjoyable about using this soap. Color me completely baffled when I read posts on how horrible this stuff is. As Fuzzy has said, "Don't blame the clutch if you can't drive a stick..."
