I can shave more than once a day; I don't have the heavily tough Mediterranean type beard. Generally, the second shave is just a single quick, light pass. If I shave daily, (which I prefer when I'm not on the phone from the minute I wake up till I walk out the door), then it's a modified two pass shave, which gives me good results without any particular burning. (I say modified because I rarely go directly WTG or ATG) If I go for a 'special event' shave, then I simply go slower with one more pass. Frankly, as long as you look clean, that's all that should really matter. (Not clean as in 'not dirty', but clean as in 'smooth and even, visually')
