Has anybody ever used talc on their face after shaving? If so how does it help your post shave? Take care.
I use Johnson&Johnsons baby powder on my face last thing, then wipe it off, after I apply my post shave balm and AS, in order to absorb any left over moisture. Helps my face feel smooth and dry, just like after a barber shop shave..
I could be wrong here, it does happen to us all I always thought Talc was for the neck area after a shave to prevent chaffing from a collar
Is that what will help with collar chaffing? Sounds like it might get messy if you don't have a white shirt.
My barber gives me a finishing trim using a shavette on my neck after every haircut, followed up with a dusting of Clubman talc. Regardless of the color of my shirt, never seem to have any talc on it.
Nice! I use Clubman Talc occasionally during hot weather around the neck and waist to prevent chaffing and absorb sweat. It works great. The barbers have it right. I've always loved the scent and it hasn't stained any of my shirts or shorts either.
Evidently it's a multi-purpose, multi-geographical use item now...... I love this forum. I've learned more here in the past 15 minutes than I've learned at work in the past 15 months.
I thought we were just talking about using powder on the face.. But if we're talking whole body I use a body powder like Gold Bond all over as a deodorant top to bottom. It's "FANTASTIC" for keeping you dry and preventing chaffing!!
Hi, my first post here so hoping I'm in the relative thread. Just bought some vintage 1960s Old Spice Talc and wondered if it's safe to use, with regards to things I've read about it that it may contain carcinogens? Hope this is only scaremongering as this stuff smells great! I'll flush the lot away though (and replace with Taylor of Old Bond Street perhaps) if my haul isn't worth the risk. Advice please... Martin
Hi Martin! Pretty sure that vintage Old Spice Talc is made out of ground up asbestos and lead paint chips. You should be fine.
Thanks to both of you fellas, you've certainly put my mind at rest. I have tried it and it feels great! Whilst simultaneously keeping my foot in a bucket of water and with my index finger in a plug socket Nice one, Martin.
