The only time I shave twice in a day would be if I'm going out in the evening for a special occasion. And the second shave would be most likely a one pass with the grain shave. Other than that I couldn't do it on a routine basis.
Early in my DE shaving re-adventure, I shaved twice a couple of times. Now, I'll just go out looking scruffy if I need to.
Remember in addition to stubble, you also remove skin when shaving. Twice a day would be very rough on my face. If I go BBS, i'll definitely skip a day.................
To avoid the dreaded velcro head in the morning I'll sometimes do a second head shave in the evening. Never had an irritation problem.
Once a day is about all my skin can take. My facial hair grows fast enough for twice a day, but my sensitive skin wins the argument.
I do sometimes, but I don't do it often. I don't recommend doing it regularly. It is too harsh on the skin.
I used to shave twice if I had an engagement in the evening. Since I discovered injectors and now straights; my shaves are so close that my 5 o'clock shadow don't show up for 24 hours. Another benefit of the wet shave
I have a hard time shaving daily as it is and since I started working on my blade sample pack, I've mostly been shaving every other day. Once I pick a blade and stick to it, I'm hoping that I'll be able to go back to daily shaving without too much discomfort but I wouldn't attempt two shaves in one day unless I had something really important to attend in the evening.
Between all the improvements in my software, hardware, and technique I'm finding every 24 hours is too often. Thirty six hours seems to be a good time span. It puts me alternating between morning and evening shaves. I'm OK with that. Except when I get a new item.
Humm, I never considered not trying for the closest shave I can get. You have put the idea in my mind.
I shoot for BBS every time, that's why I make three passes. Do I get there every time? Nope, but I know when to stop chasing.
