Hi Guys Just got this Tuckaway and I'm really pleased with the condition both razor and case. Plus I'm feelin' a bit more for some of my Ses', so I dug out the "Damaskeen" and thought "Gee, I like the razor and the shave, but hate the handle... I know, I know the "handle thing" again. But this time I'd bought a new DE that was on "special pricing" and it was. However as a lot of us have multiple razors, I really didn't need another kinda generic razor. So I had another possible Xmas gift sitting there. Until I matched up the "Damaskeen" head with the new razor handle. Hah! It worked. Down to the shop where I found a screw that fit the head and epoxied it into the handle and several hours later... a working "Damaskeen"...Hoowah. Gentlemen, as Tom says "Enjoy every sandwich".
Nice. I've read of converting DE to SE handles by this method; it worked out really well here. I'm also curious what razor that handle came from. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
Thanx guys I got the razor from Classic Shaving, they had a special on and I bought one. It's the Classic Brand "Hefty Standard" closed comb with black handle. Go '9ers!
Loving both razors. I have a soft spot for Tuckaways, but that is a great specimen. I am also curious what razor the handle that is off of and about the details of how you got the threads to work out.
