The Christmas season is just about here, my friends - this will be my chilly planned shave for tomorrow.

There aren't too many set-ups as intensely cold as this one, trust me. The Neutrogena face wash has plenty of menthol in it and it's very cleansing and skin-friendly, with a nice scent. Now for the heavy artillery: The Glacial Obsidian soap's lather is a pleasure to work up, and its menthol power pulverizes your face just about on contact so by the time you finish your first pass you start wondering if you'll be able to do a second pass. The Gold Bond moisturizes and soothes sensitive skin so well in addition to providing a lot of extra cooling. The Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel is colder than the Rubby Dubby Doo and the Penguin combined!

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette NEW and Feather Hi-Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I have not used a Gillette 195 in some time so I will correct that tomorrow along with the Zen Shave brush.

Forgot to post this earlier, figured I had to get in before the week changes over.

SoTD for Sunday December 21, or, I forgot my mediocre shave.



I have somehow ended up with two of these Adjustable razors. Decided I better use one. They look cool, but it was very mild. The adjustment did not seem to make it much different. Three passes to get to DFS+. The bright side of today was the soap. Man, Colgate rules. I love this stuff.
Also my second use of TSD Gunpowder this week. I love it as well. That's it. See you next week. I will try not to forget to post every other day thus time out!

Took me a few tries to get a good shave using a PAL. You probably already know this but since it threw me off initially I'll share just in case. The settings are the reverse of what might seem logical. The most aggressive setting is "L" and the least aggressive setting is "H".

How many shaves does it take to get to the center of a Voskhod?
For me, it's seven. Today was the seventh day, and it still was a good shave, and I could push it farther, but Christmas is near and I am being careful to avoid any issues as I anticipate photos. I'm really liking Petrichor as I get a better sense of its scent. Earthy and lightly sweet and generally pleasing is the best description I can come up with. It matches well with Krampert's Finest Frostbite as well.

Wow, great shave today. BBS neck, chin and cheeks, DFS upper lip. Extremely impressed with the performance of the blade. Still no tugging, zero alum block feedback and zero sting with AS. The Plisson once again proved to me why it's my number 1 brush right now, fantastic later.
