The Saponificio Varesino Dolomiti Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #128 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Cattaragus Straight Razor today. I did a clean up pass with the English Gold Rocket and Personna Super. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. No cuts. Woo-hoo! After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    First ever use with LASSCO.

So there may be something in the soap that doesn't agree with my skin 100 percent. Not sure what though at this point, as it has quite a scent profile. It does smell quite unusual, woody but with amber and different dark and earthy scents... The lather itself surprised me at how it exploded after only 30 seconds of loading, the water ratio I need to work on.

    But I'd say cushion - 8/10, slickness - 8/10, residual slip - 9/10, scent strength - 7/10

    Mostly Shavettes

    Razor - Magic Shavette
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
Soap - Route 66 Sweeney Todd
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

Second and final shave with the Magic and Shark Stainless blade. Used the Wolf and the Route 66 for the great lather and felt a bit more confident at the start tonight. Familiarity breeds comfort in this case. First pass was very smooth again with only a couple of spots where I let the angle get a bit out of line. Still no blood and no issues. Second pass with some touch ups got me to a very nice near-BBS. Shavettes clearly offer an advantage over the DE blades as long as they are handled correctly. At least the ones I've tried so far.

Not sure what I"ll do tomorrow but I have a day to decide that. This "mostly shavettes" theme is kind of fun but not the most focused focus I've done. That's ok, though, I think I needed a bit of freedom. Hope your weekend is going great!
