****Fellow TSD bro's! can you reply if the image below is broken or u see NO pictuure? trying to trouble shoot ...****
Sorry for the Re-Post - my photobucket did not "like" the picture? I actually paid for the basic plan and I am grandfathered for 3rd party hosting until Dec. 2018 for 3rd party posting... By than I hope the price is not 400 bucks a year - I don't mind 100 dollars but 400 is ridiculous. Unfortunately there are not many options left for free 3rd party hosting, postimg.org seems like a good alternative for now - I am sure they will start charging soon, nobody will offer free hosting in the future, but charging 400 a year is stupid...
so here is last nights shave - hope it works now..

Google translate is weak when it comes to idiomatic expressions, which are in of themselves, difficult to translate.

    Excellent Menthol Monday
Very smooth and easy shave after a weekend of growth. I also visited the TARDIS Detroit sharing library. It's full of books to trade. I added Brave New World. [IMG][IMG]

    An Epic Shootout... or Not.
So today I planned on a epic showdown between my flare tip and my red tip, to see who would reign supreme. I had planned this battle a couple days ago, when I got sidetracked learning the straight razor, but Monday was to be the day for the epic shootout. Even got the shot taken with the Ghost Town Barber soap and started playing that Cowboy shootout music in my head... you know, the one they always play leading up the the shootout while they're showing guys walk towards each other with hands ready to draw.

So, waking up with a sinus infection brewing, I ended up making a last minute change of the soap to Stirling Iced Pineapple to see if the menthol could clear my sinuses out a bit, but I still played the cowboy music in my head for effect. Anyway, I conducted a three pass shave switching the same blade between the two razors and shaved the right side of my face with the red tip and the left with the flare tip. Which razor would be left standing?!? Who would survive!?!

Yeah, now for the really anticlimactic ending... I got a great shave from both. Virtually no difference. My automatic adjusting on the fly compensated for any differences in the shave produced by each razor, and yielded virtually identical results on both sides of my face. No blood in the streets. No new sheriff in town, just a smooth clean shave on both sides. I guess it's on to a new razor tomorrow.

SOTD: 'Manly-Monday' shave using a vintage Sheffield 8/8" Tally Ho' razor from Frederick Fenney, L'Occitane 'Cade' soap with a splash of TSD 'M-Bomb' menthol; vintage 1905 Rubberset boar brush, and Fine 'Platinum' aftershave. Superior shave! Have a great Monday, gents!

    For Tuesday morning's shaving adventure:

    Neutrogena Men Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Astra day 2
Stirling Gin & Tonic on the Rocks SS
    Stirling Glacial Unscented AS Balm
    Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash
    Malizia Uomo EdT

Dayum................this really makes me MAD. Apparently the mailman came by to deliver my two new Glacial soaps today but leave it to me to miss him. The funny thing is I never even saw his truck and I was home all day. Anyway the Gin & Tonic OTR is a hell of a nice soap so I'll be happy to use that one tomorrow!

That's the element that trips me up as well. It's born from having to many razors, a taste for variety, and chasing the baby.
I cannot tell which razors are better anymore, they all yield great shaves.
I automatically shift technique without even thinking.

    Prep - shower
Pre - Badger Balm pre-shave oil
Brush - Custom 24mm Tuxedo brush
    Razor - J3 (1964) Gillette Slim Adjustable @5
    Blade - Derby Extra (1)
Soap - Sudsy Soapery Lavendar & Peppermint
Post - Alum, Thayer's Rose WH, AV 5-in-1 balm
    AS - Adidas Dynamic Pulse
    Frag - none

Fabulous shave. Perhaps the best I have ever had with a Derby. Also, if you haven't tried Sudsy Soapery's products yet, you are really missing out.
