I have been working early in the morning to avoid the heat so I'm switching to DE's for awhile. These hurried straight shaves are taking a toll on my fingers! (I seem to hack myself a lot during the blade cleaning process.) The shaves have been great but at this rate I won't have any fingers left to hold the razor! :D

Felt it was time for a 38C revisit. Smooth shave, really regret not getting the 34C instead just cause of the handle length.

    Shower and Shave

    Hot shower.
    Proraso glycerin~~~~ facial prep
    Vulfix 28~~~~today's brush
Pre' de Provence Shea Butter Savon A Raser~~~today's soap choice
Gillette old style open comb~~~today's razor
    Gillette Thin, vintage~~~blade choice
Cold water splash, RazoRock alum, Three Flowers, Tet-A-Tet balm~~~post shave

The Vulfix boar is a great little brush every soap that challenges it, easily succumbs into mounds of great lather. The Gillette old style open comb with a vintage Gillette Thin, day two was somewhat smoother. Thankfully we have stainless steel blades today, which are a vast improvement over the older carbon one. It has been interesting to experience a total vintage shave. Three passes today resulted in a DFS.

-KAI much smoother; not sure it's from the TOBS Avocado (my lather was a bit on the watery side yesterday) or it was
tamed by having a shave on it already. Either way it was a very smooth pleasant DFS

    Wednesday Morning

A trip to the mountains today to escape the heat, so a respectable shave before leaving ...

    Pre (Eucerin, warm shower)
    Omega 10083 Pro boar
    T&H Ultimate Comfort SC
    Merkur 23c w/ Kai
    Post (Cetaphil, cold water rinse)
    Master Bay Rum

DFS by means of wtg, xtg, no touch-up. Respectable, comfortable, presentable. Give only a DFS, since around 5:00 pm I was was working on quite the manly shadow.

Was around 25 - 30 degrees (Fahrenheit) cooler in the mountains than here in the valley. Very nice! Will post a pic in a second.

    Good morning, everyone!

    My Thursday shave:

    Musgo Real pre shave oil
    Logona Mann shave cream
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush in horn imitate, with Silver Tip Fibre
Gillette Sensor loaded with a new cartridge (2 blades = “double edge”?? ;-)
    Bloc Osma Alum
    Speick Men after shave

Quick and sufficiently good for the workday especially as I will be leaving early today. Would rate it a FS.

Just riding the wave of nice shaves this week, same razor, same soap. New brush today, though. I set the loft at 50mm temporarily. I'll try a couple shaves and see how I like it but suspect it will end up a little lower. If it ends up around 46mm it will probably end up in a different handle. Have a good one. Brush of the day but not the razor used today.

It rained all night and it's blessedly cool here in Toronto. Is there anything better than listening to a summer rainstorm beat on your windows?

This old Holtz is a razor I don't use much because, frankly, I think it's ugly. Still,"Handsome is as handsome does." and no matter what it looks like this one does just fine. I think I'll use it more in the future.

    Have a great day, everyone.

I enjoyed this shave so much this morning - 3 passes gave me an absolutely glass table BBS face. The Lea Menthol cream is so nice - the scent, the rich, creamy lather, and the powerful cooling sensation all appeal to me so much. The Diana Sport balsam and the Osage Rub not only added lots of extra iciness, they made my eyes water and my nose run a little! ;) :D
