I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Proraso Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 Badger brush. I did the two passes with the Gillette Aristocrat with a Gillette Super Stainless blade ("The Spoiler" R3, 1971) and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I know I shaved Sunday night, but this is my shave for Monday work so I dropped it in here. Tonight marks the first time I have used the OCMM since I put it down about 5 years ago. I was in the grocery and saw some stainless Gem blades by personna and grabbed them. The OCMM demands a light touch, but provides a fantastic shave. 2 passes plus a little clean up along the jaw line for a very nice irritation free cold water shave. It will take some time, but I would like to dial my technique in with the OCMM again. I think the biggest thing for me will be getting used to the thicker and stiffer SE blade.

 

Not much change to begin next week, but I'll do the essay anyway:

BIC continues its tour, in the Mastiff-Jaws-Boss head today (same as Charcoal's Standard head too I believe. Fresh blade was quite rough (couple of weepers). Bad blade, bad match, or simple lack of coffee I'm not sure. I suspect QC issue, as others have reported. Will see next time.
