I love my PAL Injecto-Matics. They are in the exclusive top tier of three razors I have that are super easy to use, make the dolphins jealous of my smooth skin, and provide face-rubbing goodness longer than anything I own. Today I used the purple necked PAL IM and was rewarded with everything a shave should be. :happy036:

I agree that the Ti Baby Smooth is a great razor. I do not have the aluminum to compare, but at least the Ti version is an amazing shaver and one of the best values.

[IMG]Today I strayed from my usual Astra SP to try a shark in the Slim on 5. They could be a tad smoother and a tad less aggressive than the Astra for me, but the differences are relatively minor. I also tried Reef Point Test Depth. Another soap that falls into the very good but not great category for me. The puck has a bit of a waxy smelling undertone that I don't love, but it becomes very feint when lathered as the scent blooms. It will stay in my den, but I suspect will be eventuallybumped for future soaps that I love more. Finished off with Oceana AS. Great stuff!

Today's shave was with a Laser sharp Japanese razor. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Zero issues. Still loving these Japanese Razors.

Van Yulay - Smoking Hot Pineapple

I wouldn't have thought pineapple would work as a wearable fragrance for me, and I typically don't gravitate to gourmands, but Smoking Hot Pineapple does it for me. It is largely an accurate grilled pineapple fragrance but there's just enough vetiver to lend a smokiness and wearability. Van Yulay's soap (and splash) ingredients tend to render assessing a fragrance from the jar impossible, but this one blends in quite well. The scent starts a bit sweet when initially lathered, but the smoky vetiver comes in nicely. As previously stated, grilled and caramelized pineapple remains the forerunner throughout.

None of Van Yulay's soap bases are bad, but I find I really like the ones with emu, tallow, and clay. It yields a density that stands toe-to-toe with L&L's bison tallow base. The glide, residual slickness, and post-shave are all at a level competitive with the elite artisans.

Van Yulay's water-based splashes are always boldly fragranced and have good ingredients. They offer menthol as an add-on on their site, but I don't see that option in The Club's software. I would imagine the artisan would accommodate you it you sent her a message, though. There are no alcohol splash offerings from Van Yulay.

Smoking Hot Pineapple is a "The Club" exclusive. If pineapple isn't your thing, and you haven't otherwise tried Van Yulay's soap, I highly recommend them. Your first visit to their site can be a bit daunting given the variety of available fragrances and bases, so I just recommend browsing and land on a fragrance that sounds good to you. Fret about the bases later. They're all good.
