A very very very good shave. L&L is top notch stuff, and the rocnel took care of the shave with ease.[IMG]

    ram57 Don't Open til Christmas

Today was 2nd day of use and today's shave was closer than the first shave. Possibly better preshave prep but a near BBS shave once again. Shaves me closer, than Black Hawk, El Jefe, Flair Tip, New LC, Rockwell 6S, 34HD, Jagger just to name a few. Not as smooth as the GENESIS but then we are comparing the price point/quality difference between Lexus GS and a Toyota Corolla.

How of you like yours so far?

    Excellent setup Mark.

After two years I have given up on a Varlet. I was somewhere in the teens on the wait list, no word on status in some time so time to move on.

    Prep - Hot shower
    Razor - Aristocrat (Ty @wchnu)
    Blade - GSB
    Brush - Made Rite
    Soap - RT66 Bourbon Jungle
    Post - Witch Hazel

So today was pretty much a complete change up which I know isn't wise for a noob but it netted one of my best shaves to date. The RT66 performed great which was a nice surprise as I've never used it before. I did end up with 3 weepers but I'm sure had I gone slower I would probably been fine. Also my first time using the Aristocrat and GSB, thinking once I master these it will be a dangerous combo! Overall a wonderful shave.

    Gillette WWII Tech Razor
    Treet Carbon Blade
    Erskine K-250 Badger Brush
Dirty Deeds Bay Rum & Lime Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Pinaud Clubman After Shave

Second use of the Treet Carbon blade and I gotta say, just as smooth and comfortable as in the shave from yesterday. Different razor, but the same results. Two passes with a bit of touch up for an extremely smooth BBS shave.

    Hi Friends,

    here is my Sunday Shave:

Razor: Mongoose (B2) with Jürgen Hempel Handle // Blade: Feather Pro Guard // Soap: Tim´s Soap Grass // Brush: Mühle Synthetic // Aftershave: La Toja mixed with Jojoba Oil

Great shave. The Mongoose is such a gentle razor...wow!!! You can shave over one spot multiple times without getting irritations or something else. Great!!! The soap smelled great, just like fresh cut Grass. The pairing with the Aftershave was nearly perfect, because for my nose, the La Toja has also something "grassy" in it´s scent. Lovely!!!

    That´s it for now Friends.

Have a great time, enjoy your shaves and take care.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

Basically the same setup as yesterday except for the vintage Eveready brush. That old knot works really well. Excellent shave. I hope everyone is well.

After yesterday's shave with the Segal and it's proprietary blades, I thought I would go with the Durham Duplex this morning. I had the aluminum Duplex razor, but did not have the top cap. I had also found a couple of DD straight razors with the OC guards. My friend Bill piffed me the plastic handle razor complete with top cap, and Alan, @Morman Bridge, the generous fellow that gifted me the Segal blades also gave me some NIB Durham blades. This is my second shave with a Durham and this morning I tried a couple of passes with the straight before I used the regular razor. It is safer to use the DD than a regular straight, at least for me, as I have not ever shaved with a straight. I have started to a couple of times, but always quit before I sliced myself. The shave went well with a two pass straight and the cleanup with the double edge. Again the old carbon blades are doing the job. Yes Vie-Long horse and Badger did a great job lathering the Panna Crema San Francesco. Finished with Nivea Cool Kick ASB, Clubman AS and 4711 Cologne. Have a blessed Father's Day gentlemen.

    SATURDAY'S SHAVE
    20170618_165145.jpg

    Prep: Razorock Mister Joe
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Big Ben (1st shave)
    Brush: Maggard 26mm synthetic
    Soap: Dr. Jon's 13 (sample)
Post: Stirling MITA witch hazel, Fine AB

This was one of the best shaves I have had in a long time. The Dr. Jon's 13 has a unique scent and a small dab in the copper bowl made a nice mountain of lather. It also holds a surprisingly large amount of water. Anyways, got a great BBS shave and finished off with Fine American Blend.

    FATHER'S DAY SHAVE

    Prep: Occams Crushed Lime
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Big Ben (2nd shave)
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: CRSW Jardin D'Orange V1
    Post: Reef Point Admiralty balm

Had a refreshing shave this evening. Love the scent of this soap, like a high quality citrus cologne. Although todays shave was not as good as yesterday, the lather was very nice, but the blade did not feel nearly as smooth this time around. The Admiralty balm was the perfect finish for todays citrus themed shave. Hope everyone had a great weekend, shave, and fathers day!
