Wow, am I ever smooth and silky after a great shave with my wonderful and trusty Super Speed and a new Shark blade. The Palmolive Menthol felt icy and delightful, and the combination of the 444 and Osage Rub is simply outstanding. This menthol set-up came in at a very appropriate time because it's going to be as hot as hell in Montreal today. ;) :D

Another Hotel shave, but atleast its a nice hotel.
    Godrej Menthol Mist shaving cream
    Omega Boar Travel Brush
EJ89, with Gillette 7O'Clock Super Platinum Blue
Alcolado Glacial splash with arko aqua asb

A very nice three pass shave with no touch-ups. I would say a DFS+, not quite perfect in spots but very close. The arko aqua balm does not seem to have any cooling effect which is different that what I have seen posted. Its still a nice balm, the smell is a bit strong for me, but lets see how it works through a tough day of drinking.

    Have a nice day

    Brush: Muhle Black Fibre
    Razor: Sledgehammer Slant
Blade: Iridium Super extra stainless (2); 3 passes

Felt like I needed a hot shower this morning. It sure did feel great, but I also had my first weepers in over a week. I'm really learning the different factors that all play into a getting an blood-free enjoyable shave that is also very close with no irritation.

I slept in this morning, and woke up because of my daughter playing in the hall. I sent her back to bed (6:30am...too early for her to be up) and had the time for 1 pass. It's the OCMM so the pass took off quite a bit. It was rushed, but welcome. Have a great day everyone!

Wash: Gillette Fusion Proseries Sensitive Face Wash
    Pre-shave lather: Calani - Dubai
    Razor: Merkur 38M
    Blade: PolSilver (5)
    Brush: Semogue 1305
    Soap/Cream: Anthony Logistics Shaving Cream
Post: The Body Shop - Arber ASB
    near BBS

I'm lovin' this Anthony Logistics SC. It has a very cold, very bracing effect. I have enough left of my samples to get 3 more shaves and I'll be alternating that with Bigelow so I can compare the two.

Unlike my usual SOP of tossing a blade after 3 shaves, I'm taking this PolSilver as far as it will go. I recently got 11 out of a Iridium Super and I'm wondering how this will compare. So far the tugging is a bit more pronounced with the PolSilver, but that's the only difference I note.

The Gillette Fusion face wash is fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. When I bought it, it was on clearance for $3.56 at Walgreens. I like my Nivia Moisturizing face wash better.

    The shave:
I wanted to do a little more than just shave with this new razor so I dug out my 40’s SS and did a comparison test. The Parat “feels” a lot more like a fine tool than the SS and it is a better made product for sure.
I shaved with the Rocket a little then switched over to the SS to see it there was any difference. There wasn’t. The Parat has the same performance as a early SS. Still, the Parat is, hands down, a much better built razor in every way.
So what’s the difference? The American SS is good enough in every way. The Parat is exactly the same (shave wise) but is built to last generations. Why they went to the lengths they did I don’t know, but it’s enjoyable to use a finely built instrument that shaves a well as a American SS so I’ll keep it.

Now why do I keep thinking about “liberating” Poland? :D

    Pre-shave: Hot shower, hair conditioner
    Soap: TSD Cedarwood
    Brush: Firehouse Pottery 22mm Silvertip
Razor: Clauss 11/16 (one of Glen's, who is definitely an artisan)
Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, witch hazel
    A/S: Booster's Lilac
    Moisturizer: L'Oreal Men's Expert Vita Lift w/ SFP 15

This was the first time I used this new straight I got from Glen yesterday (check it out in "The Haul", here) Wow! What a difference from the ones I've been honing. Is was very smooth and even though I didn't have too much stubble, it sliced, what was there, away with ease. Now I know I have been shaving with dull straights and now I know what it's like to have a really sharp razor; one that doesn't take any effort to use. This has been an amazing learning opportunity and I see that I have a long way to go to get my other straights up to anywhere near as sharp as Glen's. But I'll keep working on it! Have a great day everyone!!

I wanted to give the Fatboy a good trial so I'm starting it at "3" and will work my way up. That setting is too mild. No BBS today but a good DFS with no irritation.
You may have noticed that I like Cella.
