I'll keep it, though, just for the experience every once in a while. I really like the scent and the shave it gives, but as I said, just not crazy about the stick and face lathering deal.

Friday EJ89L Red Personna (6) Thater 4125/2 Arko stick Nivea Sensitive balm Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue Burberry, Burberry edt So far this high end brush is failling to blow my hair back. It makes lather fine for the first pass, but will not hold any for the second, it dissolves and I have to reload the brush. I don't have to do this with my boars, EJ BBB, or the Dridecker. I think I may not be loading the brush enough, it's a big overstuffed knot that is eating the lather that is left, and dissolving it with the moisture in the brush.
Friday, June 10th Razor: PILS Blade: Astra Superior Platinum Brush: H.L. Thater Stout 1 Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat A/S: Trumper Wellington I have tried the Thater Stout 1 with a variety of shaving soaps and shaving sticks and it does a bang-up job with everything thrown at it. The Pils and Astra Superior Platinum blade left my face BBS and the Geo Trumper Wellington was a refreshing change of pace.
Dang a PILS now that is one razor that I want to try. I think that all the PILS i have seen have been stunning and amazing pieces of work. Just a beautiful piece of useful equipment.

Yea...I really like my PILS a lot. It always delivers a great shave and I can get more shaves out of a blade than with my other DE razors due to the way the razor holds the blade. The one flaw is that the stainless steel reacts with the blade (even stainless blades) leaving so called "tea stains". I am thinking of having the razor plated because it is driving me nuts.
