Plainly and simply - here's my planned shave for tomorrow!

    Menthol Monday:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/new Dorco
Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Stirling Glacial Wintergreen AS Balm :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    YSL Pour Homme EdT

With this set-up a man is guaranteed to freeze his face off because every item is bone-chillingly cold. The Glacial Obsidian from Rod's new production is even more mentholated than previously, the lather is a joy to work up, and the scent is still the same, as well as the perfect skincare. I'll be taking the Glacial freeze up two steps with the Wintergreen balm and witch hazel. I'm curious to see how the Dorco works this week. ;) :D

My good buddy Kanda Bongo Man performing "Zing Zong" which is one of my favourite Congolese dance songs - oka, oka! :)

    Dove Men Face Wash
Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap
    Jayaruh WC1 Silver Tip Badger
    Dad's Schick E3
    Personna Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Barbasol Brisk

The Col. Conk Bay Rum Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC1 Silver Tip Badger brush. Two passes with my Dad's Schick E3 razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Barbasol Brisk after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    VACATION SOTD (5/11/15 - 5/20/15)
Wife and I are headed for sunny Florida a week. :happy069:

First trip since I began DE shaving in April 2014 so I picked out a basic "kit" consisting of:

Razor: Maggard "Frankenrazor" (Cost = $8 total. Very nice smooth shaves)
    Blades: Astra SP (Old standard)
Brush: Semogue 1320 - cheap boar brush that always creates a good lather)
Soap: Sorry....canned goo (gift from wife for trip)
AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush (gonna need the menthol in FLA!)

Funny, the razor, brush and blades all fit in an old glasses case I had.

Excellent shave today. I'm still getting the hang of The Colonel. Krampert's gave me a welcome chill on a foggy dreary morning. Der vorschlaghammer humanely disposed of my stubble and Krampert's Frostbite Aftershave wrapped it up right.
Prep: Mickey Lee preshave butter lime
    Soap: Krampert's Frostbite
    Brush: The Colonel
    Razor: Der vorschlaghammer
    Blade: voskhod (1)
    AS: Krampert's Finest Frostbite

You're darn right you'll need the menthol in Florida, especially at this time of the year! ;)

Holy Moly, did I ever freeze my face off with the Glacial Obsidian soap. The Glacial Wintergreen balm and witch hazel did one hell of an extra cold number on me as well. The shave itself was really smooth, but these Dorcos are inferior to most of my other blades.

    Monday

    Soap: Mike's Natural unscented
Brush: Bethlehem olive wood HIS synthetic
    Razor: Feather AS-D2
    Blade: Gillette SharpEdge
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

I like the looks and shape of the olive wood handle, but I wasn't satisfied with how the finish was holding up to soap and water, so I refinished it again. When I first got the handle I thought the finish was inadequate for the intended use, so I sanded it down and put on linseed oil varnish.

After several months of use, that finish wasn't looking great, so I removed it and finished the wood again with the same varnish, but I took greater care to seal and encase the wood completely with several coats. The new finish is hard and glossy with a pleasing amber tint. I think it will hold up better.

Fantastic near BBS 2 pass shave with touch ups. Had to work a little more with the touch ups. I think this blade is just about done. Hoping to squeeze on more shave out of it to make an even 2 weeks. Finished up with the normal witch hazel followed by some Floid Vigoroso from the sampler pack. Hope everyone has a great week this week.
