BEST HEAD SHAVE EVER. The new Proraso formula is not just new, it is indeed improved. I'm certain there's more menthol content, and for those wondering about the sensitive skin: It is very moisturizing and skin friendly. The SOC Boar, without being broken in is my instant favourite. I can't even imagine how amazing this will be by the time I break it in. Has me seriously considering ditching all other brushes.

 

Jeff, I think Cathy's Cadre Noir soap has an awesome scent. In some ways I find it similar to C&E Sienna. The lather and skincare are also very good.

 

Very true indeed, Jeff! Which is why this soap, aside from its awesome scent, is one of my all-time favourites.

On to my Tuesday shave ritual:

Martin de Candre Lavender shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre
Merkur Futur razor
Feather blade (4th shave for this blade)
Speick Men after shave

I kept the Futur on a setting of 2.5 for the first pass today and decided to skip the pre-shave oil for the 2nd pass as the lather from the Martin de Candre was absolutely fantastic today (am still experimenting with this soap which I only received a short while back). I also continued to play around with the Futur and opened it up to 3.5 for this second pass. Great results all over with the exception of the chin for which I decided to tone it down to the 3 setting.

Result: DFS with a little weeper on the chin (from before reducing the gap on the 2nd pass…) Man, I really start to like this razor.

My 1st shave with this Awakenings soap and already I love it. The lather is easy to create, it has a very nice pepperminty scent with another note which I cannot describe, and the menthol effect is intensely powerful, although not quite, quite as powerful as Iced Subzero or Vostok. The Barbon aftershave as always, felt heavenly.

It had been a day or two since my last shave, so I wanted something that would do it quick. The Tuckway head did not let me down. After 2 passes I walked away from the sink with a wonderful DFS! The MEM Olive, once again, created a wondrful lather that was nice and slick. Lastly the Sea of Spa ASB had honestly never felt better. I usually get a little irritation from it, but this morning it felt great, and I could feel it protecting my skin from after the shave!
