It seems the Kai's and the Feathers are very much a YMMV situation.I haven't tried the Feather's in the Cobra yet but I have a Feather AS and I know how sharp the Pro's are.I'm gonna work my way up to the Feathers, and see if they work better for me in the Cobra.

    Prep: Hot shower
Lather: La Famiglia Don Marco - ultra face lather
    Brush: Semogue OC
    Razor: Gem OCMM
Blade: Gem PTFE (6); 3 passes
    Post: Cold water rinse

Continued use of the LaFam soaps & I keep seeing improvements in my skin. Not only do I get great shaves from LaFam, but I feel that it has some healing properties as well.

    Razor: GEM 1912 Damaskeene
    Blade: CVS Carbon (7)
    Soap: VDH and KMF
    Brush: Flat Top Pure Badger
    Post: Alum
    AS: Clubman

Brush allowed to soak in ice water while I took my usual tepid water shower. An überlather was built with 10 swirls of VDH on a pure badger flatop brush mixed with one pump of KMF.

Cold water rinse of razor for three passes and some light buffing on neck. Cold water final rinse, alum applied to face (no burn) and finished with Clubman.

Close to BBS, which is good enough for me.

Interesting brush there Azarius. I only know one manufacturer that does the flat top knot. Is that a shavemac?

It is actually an experimental brush. My favorite brush is a vintage flatop Stanley that is like the one my father used. I was lucky enough to score one in 6 brush bundle. Being 60 plus years old, it is still my favorite brush, but I like to mix thing up a bit.

This brush is a cheap VDH badger that I picked up on sale for under $10. After a month or so of using it, I decided that it was too floppy and that I just did not like the bulb top that is so common today. I figured that I only had $10 to lose, so I gave it a hair cut.

The first few shaves where a little scritchy, but now it is great. I was told that I could not do that to a brush and that I would cut off all of the "good hair". That would be true for a silvertip, but I figured being a cheap brush, who cares.

What was just a fair brush IMO has now become one of my favorites.

Razor: 69 Slimline Gillette Adjustable (set on 7)
    Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless (3rd use)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
Cream: TOBS Sandalwood & Williams (ultra-lather)
A/S: Alum Bar & Cold Water Rinse
    A/S: Pinaud Clubman

This will be the third and last use for the Feather blade. I got a 2-pass + touch-ups DFS shave today with no nicks, some razor burn, and several weepers. I think the blade is past its prime. This is a shame I thought this blade would last longer than 3 shaves. 69 Gold WD 06 Sepia R.jpg

    Nivea ASB

First shave with the Fatip Piccolo. The Nickle finish looks a lot nicer than the Chrome finish on the Grande. All in all, a very nice little razor with suprisingly more heft than the Grande. A great addition to my arsenal.

    BBS!

This Iridium Super blade still shows no sign of slowing down. The lather I got with RoB was even better this second time around. Not quite the cushion of the english creams (or Creighton based-creams), but it's slicker. Tonight we move on to Herbs of Bulgaria.

When I first tried GFT Skin Food, I didn't care for it, but it's been working very well after using RoB SC. Between those two products, my face has been feeling awesome the next day. I think I'll keep this sample bottle after all.
