    Jayaruh #8 Pure Badger
    Schick E2
    Personna Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    FD Old Spice
    Aqua Velva

The Cella shaving soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #8 Pure Badger brush. Two passes with my Schick E2 razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then FD Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Stirling Sheep facial soap
    Weber PH
    Feather blade (day 1)
    Rudy Vey Shavemac two-band silvertip
MdC scented shave soap & glycerin
    Two passes
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Alt-Innsbruck

So far, so good with this set up! I haven't discovered the famed MdC lather explosion from a 30-second load to the brush yet. However, I do get a nice, slick lather...but nothing yet like I got from Arko. I hope to sort out whether this is due to technique, the addition of too much glycerin to the lather, or a combination of both. Using the same hardware, I plan to split May into thirds, first using MdC, then XPEC, and finally LPL.

May is my favorite time of year. First of all, my beautiful Bride and I celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary on the 16th. :love029::love055: We also have great weather with plenty of sunshine and daytime temps reaching into the 80s.

I hope you all have a terrific week!

Been AWOL for a couple of weeks, took off with the camper to get out of town. Stopped over to see a couple of my wife's cousins in LA, (Louisiana). Looks like I need to do a little clean-up on my shaving tools. Some times the camera can be cruel.

    Simplicity this morning.
Soak #1 Turkish for a couple of minutes in warm water in the scuttle.
    Wash face with warm water.
Drain scuttle and brush and load with homebrew soap and proceed to make too much lather in the scuttle. The #1 makes a lot of lather.
Finish pass #1 with a cold rinse then re lather for the second and final pass for a DFS.
GEM 1912 - Gem SS ptfe blade [3 shaves]
Finish with hand shower head on cold as final wash/rinse.

This is not critique, but maybe skip the glycerine with the MdC? Personally I haven't noticed the need to add a lather accelerator

Smooth and efficient removal of two days growth with Der vorschlaghammer. Krampert's Frostbite soap and AS work great together in scent and skincare. I like MLPB so far. The scent is a refreshing lime - a winner in my book. It goes on easy. I don't know if it makes the actual shave better yet, but it certainly is not hurting anything.

There's nothing like a nice frozen face on a beautiful Menthol Monday morning - the Glacial Wintergreen soap, aftershave balm, and witch hazel really did a number on me! :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Today's shave was another face lather with the La Toja stick. Face lathering definitely works better for me at lifting the whiskers so they can be cut, or more probably, the whiskers are more soaked when face lathering. Using a stick, as opposed to loading the brush on the soap, seems to do an even better job. However, I am still not singing praises about La Toja. It is a good soap, but not outstanding to me. 3 passes and very smooth.

The La Toja stick is something else I owe myself some shaves with because it's in my honest opinion, a splendid soap. :)

I am going to stick with the La Toja for a few days and see if it grows on me. Even if I don't use it regularly, it will stay in my stock.

hot water wash with dove+ care
    Ralph Lauren/ Rooney knot
    c.o.bigelow
Clauss 5/8 full hollow with a round end
    Ikon shavecraft 101
    persona lab(5t)
    Osage rub
    (5t the t denotes a touch-up)
today's shave was ok. Been a while since I used bigelow, it is nicer than I remembered, I'm gonna use it more often. a new to me brush turned out to be a very nice brush. the Ralph Lauren safari brush wasfound at a yard sale. research indicates that it was made with a Rooney knot. it is so wonderfully soft(the star of today's shave). three passes with a straight, one touch up with the Ikon. just an ok shave today. my fault, people were talking to me during my passes. finished with Osage rub.
hope y'all did as well, without interruption.
