Saturday Bulldog Men Original face wash 2014 Weber PH SS Bulldog razor Viking's Sword blade (4) Semogue 1520 boar brush Speick Men SC WTG/XTG/ATG Speick Men after shave lotion DIY Shea-Jojoba-Vit.E lotion bar Inspired by Mr. Bobcat yesterday, I decided to pull out the Speick after shave I've been trying to get rid of and take it for a spin. I applied to a damper than usual face to dilute the scent a bit more. Not that I don't like the scent, but I'm not that fond of strong scents on my face and that equals almost any splash out there, hence I normally use balm. Followed by the DIY lotion bar on face parts that didn't get splashed, left my face wholly great. I think that splash is back in the Den! Razor/blade wise there isn't much to say - it's an out of this world performer. Everytime I use the Viking's Sword I wonder why I even bother with other blades - it's that good! So.. another BBS and another great night here!
Today's shave. Prep: hot shower, Neutrogena Face Wash, Jason's Tea Tree oil. Brush: Turkish #6 Brush. Razor: Wester Bros. Cold Steel 5/8" straight razor. Soap: Arko. Post: cold water rinse, Razorock XXX AS by Fine. This was my first time using my straight in months. All I needed was one pass to get DFS. Arko lathered great and performed great as well. It's an ordinary soap that will be a solid workhorse in my den. I also love my Fine Aftershave. I need to pick up another bottle since the XXX AS was a one time run. Fine has such simple ingredients, but it tones the skin so well.

Happy Mothers Day Dove Men's Face Wash TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream Frank Shaving Finest Badger Gillette Aristocrat '47 Astra Superior Platinum CWR Dickinson's WH Pinaud Clubman AS The TOBS Lavender face lathered very well with my Frank Shaving finest badger brush. Two passes with my Gillette Aristocrat and Astra Superior Platinum blade left me with a close comfortable shave. After my cold water rinse, I finished off with Dickinson's WH and Pinaud Clubman after shave. It was a very nice shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Sunday: Our last day of vacation - home we go tomorrow. Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Sharp day 7 Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS Anherb AS Conditioner Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash This set-up is so fantastic that I think I'll use it or at least part of it for tomorrow, being Menthol Monday. The Glacial Obsidian soap has everything I love - a great scent, (I love the smell of black licorice!) rich and stable lather, and in addition to its menthol power which can just about knock you down it has such fantastic skincare. Rod really put a lot of work into this soap and I believe it definitely paid off. The Anherb conditioner and the Penguin did an awesome job of soothing and freezing my face even more. I wanted this shave to be an extra-frigid one because it is HOT here in Guadeloupe. I'll go eat something and since it's still early I'll read a newspaper down by the pool and when Madame is ready, we'll go to the beach for the last time.
Sunday: Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Razor: Merkur 41C 1904 OC Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2) Passes: ETG, XTG, ATG (4, 5, 6) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Nivea Energy ASB I think the worst part, for me, of how well the Merkur and the Bic work together is they actively discourage me from trying other razors and blades at this point (I know, first world problems). Three passes, no nicks, no weepers, no irritation, and BBS results. I could have skipped the alum, simply because there was nothing for it to stanch. I reached for the Nivea ASB today thinking of my SO, as I got it on a visit with her.
