Holy Toledo, we're getting into a new month - here are my plans for tomorrow.

    Menthol Monday:

Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/new Shark

This is the coldest and most frigid set-up a menthol lover like myself could possibly find and I sincerely advise anyone who's not able to handle intense menthol to avoid it because several items might be very uncomfortable. The Gatsby facial wash is very cold, but refreshing as well as moisturizing. Now for the heavy-duty stuff: The Glacial Wintergreen soap has a menthol effect which hits like ten tons of icy bricks almost immediately, and the longer it's on your face the colder it gets. The Diana Sport balm is very moisturizing with an extremely strong freezing effect and The Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel is even colder. Your face will feel cold for hours after shaving with these items. ;) :D

    Noxema Classic Clean
    Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap
    Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush
    Gillette English NEWtopia LC
    Personna Stainless Comfort Coated
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette English NEWtopia LC and Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Hello everyone.

I’m usually a morning shaver, but I decided to shave tonight in preparation for an early Monday morning.

I loaded up my trusty Weber PH with a new Feather blade. After my shower, I used D.R. Harris Almond cream for only the second time. I enjoy the scent, but it is more solid in the tub than I would have expected - almost the consistency of soap. Anyway, with a few drops of glycerin, it produced a cushiony, protective lather on my face.

After two light passes (three on my neck), I got a really close and comfortable shave with no irritation and one small weeper. Even though I have been DE shaving for a couple of years, my shaves are consistently better than just a few months ago. That tells me that I am still learning, so thanks in advance for continuing to teach me!

I finished up with Thayer’s Lavender and Clinique Post-Shave Healer. I plan to stick with this routine all week, more or less.

I’m all ready for a restful Sunday evening and a busy week at work. I hope you all have a blessed week. Don’t forget to set time aside for some relaxing shaves! :happy088:

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Glacial Obsidian
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (4, 5, 6)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velve Ice Blue AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

There were basically two reasons I reached for the Glavial Obsidian the AM: 1) by the end of the month, I expect it will be chilly enough that I'll be disinclined to use the super-mentholated stuff, and 2) I'm a stubborn so-and-so who refuses to give up trying to make a good lather with a product I deliberately sought. I loaded the brush twice as long as normal, still had sub-par lather for the 1st pass, but the 2nd and 3rd passes got good lather. The blade is still going strong, save an involuntary twitch on my part that caused a weeper, and I wound up with a frosty BBS shave.

This wasn't my best shave ever, but it was decent. It just wasn't as smooth as I've become accustomed to. I'll try again tomorrow, but I'll go back to Personna Lab Blue blades.

    Have a great day!

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Valet Autostrop OC, Imperial Razor Warranted Barbers Favorite straight razor
