I've seen it in the stores. How does it compare in scent or face feel to either Shulton or P&G Old Spice?

To me the Family Dollar Spice smells exactly like Old Spice. It's very pleasant and familiar.

Well the Mighty Veg is still a powerful item. Great day of sales today, especially for a Wednesday on a sale change. I may have to just start using it every day. Third shave on the E2 injector with Stirling Ozark Mountain and the JR46. Great lather, great brush, two passes and touch ups and the baby is put to bed. I usually wonder why I don't use the injectors more when I finally break them out. Alas, that's the last one I have, though I'll revisit both of them later this month I'm sure. I'm probably headed on to the pain stick tomorrow for a few days during SEPtember.

Aftershave of the day tomorrow morning is AV Ice Blue. A classic scent that should start the day off GREAT!

Awesome to see you trying straight shaves! Just take it slow, it literally takes thirty or so shaves to get the grips and angles down. Love it!

 

Good luck with the straight shaves. It's worth the effort to learn.

 

I'm not familiar with the Shulton version...been waaay too long to remember. I would agree that it's close to the P & G, but maybe just a tad bit more "heavy handed. That's a real way to describe a fragrance, right? LOL...Basenotes hasn't been calling me for after shave reviews!

Thirsty Thursday
I bought this soap because the ingredients, such as emu oil, are unusual and can help with rosacea. It is a thirsty soap, and once I got the water level right the lather was very thick and comforting. There is plenty of residual slickness, and the post shave feel is among the best I've ever used. The scent is a fresh ylang ylang, though my nose is still stuffed up, I could enjoy a little. I won't know for a while if it does help rosacea, but it certainly is an excellent soap either way. Himalaya is not a perfect match for the scent, but it is complex enough to pair well with the citrus.
