The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #16 Best Badger brush. Two passes with my Schick L1 Injector razor and a Personna SS Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

13 minutes till midnight so not technically 9/14 but as I will be running around like crazy before work in the am I decided to start Menthol Monday before bed.


Pre Shave- Hot shower with Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Bath soap

Shave- Stirling DE3P2 loaded with a fresh Feather blade (1 and done )

Comfortable shave tonight BBS on the cheeks and DFS on the neck. The Feather blade seemed to struggle with 3 days growth so I tossed it after I was done the shave (although it might not have been the blade faults as much as mine seeing as I have been up since 2 am since my daughter is not feeling well and couldn't sleep and I am currently half asleep as well as frozen ). Off to bed before my wonderful 12 hour shift in the a.m.

Soap: TOBS Lemon Lime mixed with Chiseled Face Cryogen Bowl lathered to ensure good mix!
AS: Aqua Velva Blue and Nivea Balm

Still working on technique with the Merkur and Astra but still resulted in a DFS. Will be getting a couple more types of blades to try in the Merkur any suggestions?

I was a bit concerned about tackling 3-days' growth with a 5-day old Bolzano. The first pass was, indeed, a bit rougher than I would have liked, despite great lather from the Ginger's Garden/Simpsons brush combination. Fortunately, the RAKE handled it well, and I got through 3 chilly passes without even removing the pimple under my chin. The blade was probably not sharp enough for a true BBS anymore, but DFS results without bloodshed or irritation should count as a win before 7am on a Monday.

today's shave was nice. after a rare skipping a day,I had plenty of stubble to mow down. the old Ever-Ready boar was taken off the shelf to whip up the bombed vision. it did a fine job. my new Gillette did a great job, three phases left me clean and smooth. finished with iced rush. great shave.

I had such a freezing from the Glacial Wintergreen trio - the soap hit me with a menthol punch which I haven't experienced in a few days and WHAMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Within seconds my eyes started tearing and my nose ran a little. When I put on the matching balm and witch hazel, I felt a bit disoriented for a second. The new Personna blade really cleaned me up beautifully!

 

Menthol Monday
Excellent shave despite a false start with too much water on the soap. The original lather was too thin because I put in too much water, so I rinsed out the brush and started over. This time the lather was thick and rich. The Fatboy had little trouble vanquishing my stubble, and I finished up with Fine Platinum and CRSW Jd'O balm. I added Td'H to carry the scent.

I have been using this wonderful soap for the past few days and have enjoyed it very much. I can see why this is so popular. A bit pricey, but I think it will last a long time. Great shave and easy on my skin...unscented is a bonus.

Well, that was just a right dandy shave this morning. Face freezing SC, cooling effect of the Osage Rub and finished with the mentholated Florida Water. Fantastic!

Maggard Limes & Bergamot today. 20 seconds to load the Thater (first shave). Easy, thick, lather. Personna Med Prep in the NEW SC. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with CC Frozen Vetiver.
