This ER 100T actually worked really well with the original boar knot, and this style handle is one of my favorites, but I looked at it and decided it needed a little something to dress it up a little. So, I popped out the knot and replaced it with a TGN 22 mm Black Badger which I think made it look a lot better. It's set since Friday night to make sure the Liquid Nails silicone adhesive set up good and solid, and I plan on test driving it tomorrow morning. Here it is with the original knot. I trimmed the hairs down close to the handle and decided to try to remove the knot like I did on the ER 300N so I put this little scratch awl on the knot and hit it a couple times with a hammer, and voila, the knot split into several pieces and fell into the hollow handle. It was then a simple matter of pulling the pieces out with a pair of needle nose pliers. The knot was actually held in the white sleeve that was in the handle. It made for a perfect fit for the 22 mm knot, no sanding or grinding was necessary, by leaving the sleeve out. Here it is with the new knot, I think it's a nice mix of black and white. It looks like it's going fast even when it's setting still! The lettering on the bottom wasn't painted at the factory so I left it that way.
