Which type of Aftershave do you prefer Splash/Lotion or Balm ?
    and why ...
    Thank you very much...

I much prefer the Splash variety. I get more coverage with splashes, and can FEEL and SMELL the coverage. With some, though, the pour hole is a little too big, thus more comes out than you want. Aqua Velva is a prime example. Happens with Mennen Skin-Bracer too, but not as much of that one comes flying out as is the case with Aqua Velva. I have a balm-Rise Aftershave Balm. I only use that following the Rise Super Foam shave cream, though, as they are perfect compliments of each other. It's OK, but I do like the splashes much better.

I prefer a splash, especially alcohol based. Like the Listerine commercial from a few years back, "The burn let's you know it's working!"

If i have time, and the match is good, i like to use both.
It may be overkill, and i mix and match with daily activities.
I guess my skin is pretty normal, i don't feel greasy or dry. I do occasionally use alum, splash and balm.
I drop the alum if i get too much sun.

So far I prefer an AS, but a balm is good to have around. Especially if you have some irritation. I have Stirling and Nivea balms. The Nivea feels nice and smells great but it's just not Stirling so when I run out I won't be buying anymore. If you have a bit of irritation, Stirling just calms and cools it down, good stuff.

I've never had any luck with balms - I end up with clogged pores and pimples all over my neck, so I only use splashes.

I use both. First a balm, then a splash.

Balm. Splashes are just that...splashes, and make a mess. Plus they stink.

Yes! The choices of stink give variety to my shave.
My one balm, Cremo Face Moisturizer, has very little scent and is only used when I cause irritation with a bit of incorrect technique. Otherwise it's an alcohol based splash. I don't get the same face feel with witch hazel products.

I prefer splashes now. It used to be the other way around and I used balm religiously after every shave. My choice was Nivea sensitive balm. It's great stuff. I still have some and use it occasionally but my tastes have moved over to the splash category due to the variety of scents as well as my face feeling less greasy at the end of the day as it did with balm usage. Even with that I like balms and think they have a solid place in all of our choices.

I perfer balms but i do use splashes and enjoy them.

Balms just seem to calm my skin down better.

I have and enjoy both with no strong inclination towards either.

I tend to use a lot of lotion because of dry skin so using a splash and lotion is probably the same as using a balm.

Someone mentioned some splashes decanting excess product. For those I transfer some of the contents to a small spray bottle to gain better control.

I'm the exact opposite. I use a splash then I top it off with a balm.

I'm firmly in the splash camp(VIBR anyone). But, I do use Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer first. It's unscented, so there's no conflict with the A/S and my face gets the best of both worlds.

In my aftershave inventory, its probably 65% balms, 35% splashes.
I have sensitive skin that is prone to dryness.
