hello fello shavers .just found a tech on the bay .it appears to be an all brass sportsman in canadian box.nos with sealed blade dispenser.. not mine.but for you tech lovers like myself.... https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Vintage-NOS...230021?hash=item2852589985:g:MmYAAOSwGitakxC0
i agree too. if it was my 2nd or 3rd razor purchase well it would be gone already.but.... i have enough 30 ish razors and need to move some along not buy more.it is a great buy though for someone wanting the last all brass tech gillette produced.just a thought...
So, you consider any Tech of this configuration to be a "Sportsman" even if it was not originally sold as such?
not at all .many sportsman tech razors i have seen have a brass head and handle with that logo on the cap.some british razors were marketed and sold differently in canada.love the prewars.
Enlighten me please, other than the rare razors that have the word "Sportsman" on the packaging, what makes a Tech a Sportsman?
as far as i know british sportsman techs had brass nickel caps ,handles and a unique logo on the cap.other british techs had the zamac caps and aluminum handles.beyond that not much else.
i could be mis informed.other forums have shown pics of that razor and described it as brass head with that unique etched logo.i haven t seen that logo on any other brit tech.used ones on eb. uk have the same and are described as brass handle not aluminum. i purchased one and questioned it myself.mine has a brass nickel cap and brass nickel handle.seller in england called it a sportsman tech.mine has a different logo than the one posted so who knows. either way it is a nice nos british razor someone may like.no expert here. i will research it more.
look up " info on an english tech" in the search engine or under safety razors. there is a video and pics on a 1967 sportsman tech.
