Squeaky Rocket

So I read somewhere (another thread I think) that baby oil is essentially mineral oil with a little scent added.

We have some upstairs (near the baby!) So I grabbed that. Couple of drops and it's now squeak free AND smooth opening

Yes, but you can purchase straight mineral oil in the laxative section of your druggist, or pharmacy. I use mineral oil due it doesn't wash out of the razor as easy as thinner oils.

Brylcreem ingredients; Water, mineral oil, beeswax, fragrance, calcium hydroxide, BHT, dimethyl oxazolidine, magnesium sulfate, and stearic acid.

That tip saved me a trip to the store. Baby Oil works well.

 

I just don't like my razors smelling like a powdery baby butt.

 

Electric hair trimmer oil, sewing machine oil, Tri-Flow, we all have something around!

 

The squeak is probably the reverse inner threads, let some oil run down the shaft from the top.

 

Squeaky Rocket is also the old nickname for the U.S. Thor missile program.

Dana's Canoe is a similar powder / barbershop scent.

 

I've never smelled anybody's canoe that smelled like baby powder. Maybe a stinky ditch or a swamp, but not baby powder.

 

It's an old one, that Canoe. Been around since 1936.
