I had and amazing shave a few days ago. One of the best of my life. The biggest contributor to my amazing shave was the beautiful lather I built. However, there was a ton left over after my shave. So for my shave today I decided to not build so much lather. I built just enough to get me through today's shave. Big mistake. Because I rushed and didn't build my lather properly, the lather didn't have to volume, protection or slickness it usually has. Lesson learned !!!
Yeah, lather is cheap and it's much better to have too much than skimp. Don't feel bad though, I've been married over 25 years and still frequently make mistakes, sometimes the same ones over-and-over. Life is a learning process.
Yes I bowl lather. I made enough lather. The problem was the lather was crappy. It was very flat, not fluffy. Won't make that mistake again !!!
Which soap/ brush/ bowl? Economizing by not wasting makes sense. On the other hand a couple pennies worth of soap is a small price to pay for the best shave in a year!
Only the lather that touches your skin is doing any good, the rest of the luxurious, thick pile of lather just looks good and clogs your razor.
You must be thinking of Williams soap. I usually add essential oils to my Arko, to enhance the scent. Arko by itself is rather dull, and soapy smelling.
They are subtly different to my nose. Arko smells like Ivory soap on steroids with a heavy lemon zest scent, Williams is totally Citronella bug candle. Can I interest you in some Veg?
