I've had good luck with stirling =) good and slick lather, plus I love the scents. It's to bad they didn't work for you. Maybe MdC have ruined you for other soaps =)
This is a great video of how to use Stirling Soaps without problem! I tried it and yep... best technique by far. Shaving Soap Lather Tutorial:
I just finished off a bath bar of barbershop. I had paired it with the stirling black ice shave soap and WitchHazel After Shave.
I've been using Stirling grapefruit and getting great shaves with it. As mentioned it is one of the slickest shave soaps out there. I like using it to shave with on work days. I can whip up a good lather pretty quick with it and since it's so slick. I can get a high quality shave with it as quick as anything in my rotation. I also like Stirlings witch hazel and aloe splash as well as their bath soaps.
this is the best shave soap I’ve found, as well as their matching aftershave balm... I really didn’t want to like it as much as I do cause I like the higher end more expensive things in life and now I’m now exclusively using Stirling. I now have the other much more expensive soap just sitting and will likely not be used. Wished I started off with this stuff, now the great news is I can clear more room and stick with 4-5 Stirling soaps and balms
i totally understand what youre saying...i tried stirling soaps years ago and wasnt much of a fan...i thought the scents were too powerful and the soap mostly smelled like its base components. i guess he has done a better job nowadays vs 2012 and maybe i should give it another shot
Some Stirling soaps are very strongly scented and others are not - might be worth asking him first if scent strength is a deal maker/breaker for you. The current version is a very good straight razor soap. Cheers, Steve
