Tabac lather is superb! The scent, I thinks its OK but my wife says it smells like a retirement home.
I used to love it. The stuff is really slick and nice but lately it's the scent... well I dunno strong and " powdery " I don't use it as much as I used to.
Well, I may be resurrecting this thread, but I just had my Tabac Tuesday for my at work shave. So here it goes; Rockwell Model T Gillette Rubies (Philippine Gillette DE Blade) Q-Shave Scuttle Stirling Best Badger 26mm Tabac Cream (Bought locally here in Kurdistan) Tabac Aftershave Lotion Tabac EdC Tabac Deodorant Tabac Hair Lotion Gentleman Jon's Alum Block Next Tuesday, I use the Tabac Puck from the Tabac Ceramic Container. Everything else will be exactly the same.
I will be into Tabac Tuesday with my before work shave this afternoon. Who else want's to jump aboard?
Considering I just had it, it being Tuesday morning here, I guess I jumped in head first. Oh, just so you know, I didn't bloom the cream, @wchnu . Even I don't bloom cream.
Tabacstag Excellent shave as usual, since Tabac never fails. Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: Rockwell 6s R6 Blade: Voskhod Brush: Lutin Lightning Pre-Shave: Tabac PSO Lather: Tabac Original Aftershave: Tabac Original Additional Care: Tabac Hair Creme
Seems like this thread has been officially resurrected. What a difference two years make. What I would have considered "great" lather, today I would consider it "under-hydrated" lather. Today's lather: It's hard to tell, but this lather would "drip" if allowed to stand. Soap + plenty of H2O = lather goodness.
Tabac is not a tobacco scent but instead a tobacco flower scent. It's floral and a bit powdery, Grandma's purse! Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Just shave yesterday, and probably will tomorrow. I hate to miss a well inspired shave Fuzzy. Joseph, back then you were a DE user? You've upped your game with the SR shaves, and Tabac does hold the hydration well. Paul, Andrew @Linuxguile used the often spoken description of Grandma's Purse. Tabac isn't at all dirty ashtray, cigar, or pipe tobacco. It's an old world cologne scent. For us Americans it is reminiscent of the scent of Kleenex tissues, Certs breath mints, that smell when you mom or grand mother opened her purse to give us a quarter for the ice cream truck.
Oh, right...Andrew, I bet I asked you that before, and your answer looks familiar, as it should. Rubber-stamp nation in C. Springs!!
Yes, as you can see Lino repeated the Grandma's Purse phrase. In this way, it's a lot like Stoylin Gentleman, right?
