I just want to say thanks for all the advice and encouragement, getting started in straights. It's only been a few weeks, but in that time, through various videos, member advise, and personal member experiences posted, I have now 4 legitimate "Shave Ready" vintage straights. Three were hopelessly dull, and had nics on the blades. One had a tiny crack. One was supposedly shave ready, but wasn't, oh well. All helped me learn. I've learned to set a bevel, and hone, with one stone(#3000/#8000). I've also learned how to properly use a strop. Thanks guys.
Congratulations on having a good set of straights! I join you in my appreciation towards everyone here at the Den! And I love how the SR world is the Dark side haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know nothing about straight razors, but your comments are terrific. TSD is so supportive it's amazing. Herm
