Based on the minimal reduction of that stick I'm suspecting it is good many months worth of shaving. I'd be over it, needing some variety, packing it up and bailing out on day 108. Just saying...

 

It's likely over 200. I really was into SAD variety for the first year or so. In the soap forum archives, there is a series of episodic threads in 2015 that were done approximately quarterly. It was called "4 guys, two soaps." We organized soap reviews and banned "star rating systems", opting instead for photos and commentary. When learning SR, I used the same soap for 100 days. It would be kinda silly if the founder of the 30 Day Rule discussion was unable to stick to something long term. Honestly I avoid variety to encourage newbies to stick to a setup and master it, otherwise they will likely end up applying solutions to problems they don't have, all the while failing to see the cause and effect relationships between the four shave elements.

 

I admire the "laser like focus"! The application of this discipline has already helped me, so thanks! (Although I just have to season it with some SAD/RAD/BAD to keep it fun and interesting!) Cheers!

 

Variety is not bad, and if that's what people need, the more the merrier. My mission here is to give new converts the fundamentals they need in order to have fun with anything they'd like to use. 30 Days of boredom at the beginning greatly accelerates the arrival of true enjoyment.

 

As for me, after 20 years of shaving with only what I could get from the store, having _choices_ is amazing.

 

It has absolutely paid off for me, and I wouldn't have done it myself without the direction/encouragement, so thanks. Enjoy the 285 Arko days that remain this year...

Working on it. We replaced all our carpet yesterday and today, and I am a bit behind. I will catch one tonight. And then update on Sundays. The day to day progress isn't clearly noticeable. This thing is going 200 easy. For a dollar.

 

Seems about right! Only 285 to go!
