This brush came in with an cheap boar knot so I decided to clean out this brass brush handle to improve it over what it was. For the knot I chose a 22 mm Silvertip Badger. Since the head was brass, I would only be able to remove the knot, clean out the remnants and accept the loft that would occur. After cleaning and installing the new knot the loft was 49 mm which is great for face lathering. It has a very heavy feel to it and one side is slightly lighter in color than the other. Overall it makes a nice new "Brass Section" for my set of brushes. In honor of the new "Brass Section" here is a great brass section in action!
OMG.. that has to be one of the nicest handle conversions I've ever witnessed! You sir are an artist..
Your Brass Section fits right in with all the great Brass sections I know of....In fact I can truthfully say that I would rather see your Brass Section sitting on my sink as I step out of the shower that any of Ellington's or Basie's... Course maybe some on Ina Rays' brass section could be acceptable in that situation....ha,ha,
