The flea market was a bust today, BUT...

...I hit a local antique store that I like with my daughter afterwards. I NEVER find shaving gear there. But today? I scored.

$7 each on the adjustables. $5 on the GEM. All cleaned up very nicely and appear to be in great working order. I passed up a Micromatic and a Super Speed that were both really beat up.

I do not know dates on any of them. I am afraid I am pretty poor at dating anything but my wife. If anyone has any pertinent info I would be grateful to receive it.

Nice score, Chris! Look on the underside of the baseplate on the adjustables to find a date code, such as G3 (G on one side of baseplate and 3 on the other side ... this would be the 3rd quarter of 1961), and then go to this table:

I was pretty pumped! I have been through this place many times. It's in an old house. They have lots of cool stuff, but never shave gear. I found this stuff laying on a shelf in the first room I went into.

Our flea markets here are pretty sketchy but once in a blue moon I will score something there.

Nice.. that Gem is a 1912 model. Probably from a Minute man set. They shave awesome!!!.

 

It's my fourth GEM. I'm a fan! One Damaskeene, one fancy scroll handle, one more pedestrian.
