Thanks, Mark. That little trick seemed to work. I used some Col. Conk lime which isn't my highest quality stuff by far, and made it work better than ever before. :happy088
I tried this trick this morning with my T&H soap. Seemed to give a thicker lather, not quite in the cream range of thickness, but definitely thicker.
I tried this again (second time) with a glycerin soap and got the best lather I've ever gotten from this type of soap. I've always had trouble getting 1. decent lather 2. enough lather. This has solved both of those problems. It was actually better lather than I get from my creams...:shocked003
I respectfully disagree I was very skeptical when I tried it, for the following reason: the capillary effect works totally independent from gravity. I did not notice any significant improvement of my lather, which I didn't expect to see, since my lather has been perfect before. On the other hand, I believe that some of you guys got better lather using the upside-down method, which I think is because you added the weight of the soap and its bowl to your regular pressure, and hence loaded more soap into your brush. Well, even pressure can be applied in any direction, which makes it unnecessary to turn the bowl upside-down (and risk dropping the bowl!). I believe some extra swirls and/or a little more pressure will give you the same result, just saver and easier.
