Well, I got a Gillette Ladies DE with pink stars! It's just so cute, used generic blades from the drugstore, an old makeup brush Dove soap. Everything went well! Fewer nicks & scrapes than disposables. I'm happy!
Hello and welcome to TSD. Good choice in switching to a DE. Would upgrade the makeup brush though. Getter better exfoliation. VDH makes a very decent brush at a good price and can get at Walmart even. What ever part you're shaving will thank you.
Thanks! I was thinking of changing it out, I have plenty of cups and bowls, and will keep an eye out for a nice starter brush.
Welcome to the Den! Whipped Dog has some very nice starter brushes for very reasonable prices. It looks like they are out of Silver tips until August though.
This was my first badger brush. It sheds a few hairs during a shave, I haven't used it since I started buying higher grade brushes. I have plenty of other brush to choose from so I won't be using it again most likely. If you would like to try a badger brush, PM your address and I will send it to you.
to TSD ShorTea............I hope you enjoy it here....... If you'd like to try a "VERY" inexpensive brush you may want to give a #6 Horese hair fom bestshave.com a go...bestshave doesn't have a reputation for the best QC around, but for around $5 shipped I.M.O. it's worth a try.....I've used mine daily for about 2 years now and really enjoy it.....
Thanks! Good suggestion. I'm also trying to figure out how to PM on this forum so I can accept a wonderfu PIF offer!
Once you get the brush, you should also get a soap (or cream) that is made specifically for shaving. They lather & protect your skin better. BTW, have you tried using a pre-shave oil? They are easy to make (go to Tutorials to learn how) and also help with a great shave.
