Went to the local restaurant supply ( Cash & Carry) today and bought an 18.7 lb Boneless Rib Eye Loin. Took it home and hand cut 1.3lb steaks and vacume sealed them up for future use. We will have one each tonight along with some garlic bread and steamed cauliflower
Excellent! My wife makes a simple but delicious smashed cauliflower, salt & pepper, butter and a little sour cream. I'm a big mashed potatoes fan, the smashed cauliflower has replaced the potatoes.
Depending upon the chef's interpretation, I tend towards more on the 'rare' side. Speaking of blue cheese & meat, one of there more memorable meals I've had was at a restaurant in Utah years ago: perfectly grilled 2" thick Buffalo tenderloin filets, wrapped in thick-cut bacon and topped with crumbled blue cheese…side of grilled onions…oh my!
Those Ribeyes look great. I hope you guys have a great dinner. Anybody else like raw horse radish on their steak?
Raw horseradish, with some sautéed onions, a potato for one side and some German coleslaw with a rare to medium rare steak, is nirvanna.
My wife has been wanting steak and this thread inspired me to go pick up some rib eyes. Although they're from Kroger and look no where near as good they shall suffice.
