This is just shameful for a man my age. Here I am, not shaving all that often and THIS is what I've accumulated. Worse, got free credit card points the other day so I just ordered 100 Blue Birds. I'm an idiot. Carbons up top, stainless on the bottom. Bottom center, the King of Blades (imo). BTW, I may have asked before but if anyone has info on Vulcan blades (the naked ones upper left-ish), I'm all ears. Came in a military issue dispenser but have found no substantial info on who made them. Odd gun blue finish on them I've not seen on any other blade. Been three days since I shaved, I look like Otis Campbell. Time to break out a Rexall.
Found this on the web. "Vulcan Razor Blade Corporation of Maplewood, New Jersey, sold through Sears with the Craftsman name, and also by Baer under the Vulcan name, and also apparently through Imperial under the Hammer Brand logo with a inexpensive bonus two blade stainless pen knife." This was on the auction site. Vintage Double Edge Razor Blades Vulcan Razor Corp - Maplewood, New Jersey Made of Swedish Steel
I don't want to exacerbate your ADs, but I don't feel that you have to many blades. Maybe you have too many vintage, but not too many current production blades. That moisture trap is a good idea however.
Not pictured are seven 100-count bricks (Voskhod, GSB, two Platinums, Perma-Sharp, and two Polsiver SI) still in the cabinet underneath. I think I'm good on blades.
I've had an issue with hoarding blades and purchased way too many of them when I found them on sale. Not sure of the number since I have traded and given some away, but it is still excessive. The only ones I don't feel that was about are the SE blades, I have 12 Stainless Gems and an extra dispenser of the Chinese Schick Injector blades.
My entire stash: 23 tucks GSB 15 tucks Voskhod 10 generic Personna 4 Derby DE blades 3 Van der Hagen DE blades Some random single stuff from samplers 60ish Derby Saloon 60ish Shark SS Saloon 1 open dispenser of Schick Injector with 5 left, 1 unopened magazine
No pictures but I have about 300 Voskhods 240 Dorco Prime Platinum 90 Personna Lab Blues 14 Vintage Gillette Blue Blades A Few BICs And a sampler from my Krona I probably won't use the vintage blades.
I like them. They're pretty inexpensive as well. I have to try the ST-301s again. I used them before, but that was a different razor and a few years ago. I liked them back then.
The too many blades calc must take into account projected remaining lifespan, blades on hand, average shaves per blade, and current market price for one's favorite blade. As the current retail for Tian Li blades is $3.52/100 I do not have too many blades. Simple math. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
