Wow, this one is a beast: http://www.maggardrazors.com/introducing-our-first-stainless-steel-handle-the-mr8/
It also can pull double duty in the event you misplace your axe and need some fire wood quick. @Darkbulb looks like we need a new chart!
When I first started "traditional" shaving around 3 years ago, razors like the Gillette "Fat Handle Tech", EJ89, Merkur 34C and Weber were considered the heavy weights. Now they don't even make the top 10 list..
The head is the part that would require significant complex machining if you were to make it from SS. There's no way around it, milling machine time costs $$$. Also, I'm not sure that there are great gobs of folks demanding stainless steel heads. It does seem however that there are plenty of folks who are just buying new handles. The stainless handle is just a piece of round bar stock that can usually be loaded into a "shaper" that runs continuous coil or long bar stock pieces. While it is technically correct to say that such a handle is machined, it's much less complex, and basically a hi-speed repetitive operation.
So....get to work on the SE Thread already DB. Can the GOOSE be beat??? Oh, that's right yours had to go back.
Oh OUCH!! Lol. My goose arrived in Florida this past weekend but they don't work weekends...hoping that I'll see a new one being shipped out to me next week...
One would think they'd get right on it. I know you'll love the close shave it gives. Good things come to those who wait.
So far their customer service has been very good. If they manage to send me a good razor in return I'll be as 'quick' to post the positive as I was to point out the disappointing as I think that's only fair
Well this was an interesting read when the OP first posted it, and it still is. I guess I will find my postal scale, and weight some of my razors. I wonder how much my Rockwell 6-S Weights as compared to my Weber 3pc. and my Above the Tie Kronos and Atlas weight?
