So we have to tell a cool TSD story Adam aka @Drygulch gets in touch and we start talking, he says Glen I have a Case Bros. razor I would like to get a full custom restore done on, I was wondering if maybe you want to make a trade for a strop ??? He links me his page to look at,, now to be honest I need another strop like I need a hole in the head but what catches my eye is that Adam also makes belts Hmmmmmm Now the wheels are turning because the Mother In Law was getting me a Small of the Back Holster for my Beretta 92 for Christmas ... So I says welllllllll what I do need is a REALLY good gunbelt, a super sturdy platform to hang the new holster from... Adam asks a few questions, I ask a few questions and a deal is struck Now here are the pics a absolutely excellent double thick perfectly stitched Gunbelt for my new holster & Adam's Case completely restored snuggled into a custom fit set of Wenge' scales with a Turquoise wedge.. The Wenge' was Vacuum treated then poly-sealed and put together with all Solid Brass hardware.. I polished the razor and honed that tight grained NY steel on the full Shapton system to 30k... Good trade Gotta love TSD Thanks for looking guys
Wow, Glenn! That looks amazing. It does not look like a hundred year old razor anymore. Here's what it looked like when I got it. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/accidentally-won-a-case-brothers-tested-xx.48540/#post-948080 I am really glad I asked Glenn about it. I know how to do leatherwork, but haven't done much with steel or fine wood working. I wouldn't have gotten it to look this nice.
Wow! I don't know what I like more... The belt or the razor. Both are fantastic! Great work from both of you guys!
The belt is over a quarter inch thick. It is two top grain leathers glued and hand sewn together. If I had to guess, I would say it's probably not even broken in yet.
