Done!!! Upgrade PIF

Upgrade PIF
This PIF is for members (international included) with more than 100 posts and who want an upgrade. It includes a razor, blades and a brush. I received both this brush and this razor as PIFs, and want to pass them along rather than keep them when they aren’t being used much.

• Razor: Old Type Head on a Hibco handle, replated. This was PIFed to me by @clint64, but I am trying to reduce the number of DE razors I have. The handle threads are tapped just a little off center, which you will notice when you screw it in.
• Blades: four tucks of five blades each, all Russian- Rapira Swedish Supersteel, Rapira Super Stainless, Rapira Platinum Lux, and Sputink.
• Brush: Hand turned Maple Handle with Badger knot. I spoke with the maker last year on this, but can’t remember the size or type of the knot. It is well made, and lathers very well. (Obviously it is used.)

PIF will remain open until the Ides of March, and a winner will be selected using either my judgment of the best reason, or random.org, and announced on March 16th. Please reply back saying you are in, and explain why it is important that you be upgraded. Exaggeration is encouraged, and pictures are important. Explain why you are worthy and others are not.

A very generous PIF! I'm not in, because there others here more worthy than I. ( lol or because I don't need the upgrade) but the newbies on here should jump on it. ( yes I'm a newbie)

 

I'm in! My worthiness might be enumerated below:

The cartel influence is strong with me, however my current Russian blade supply is running low. I've tried all the Rapira you are offering and I've liked them all. They would perhaps be an upgrade from Personna blues. And perhaps I can be recruited and used to the cartel's advantage in spreading the propaganda of Russian steel.



I have to come to really like my open comb razor, a Maggard MR1 with V2 open comb head.



The razor you are PIFing looks to be an upgrade from this Maggard.

My only badger brush is the bewildered Escali badger. Your brush offer is most definitely an upgrade from the Escali. I have used the Escali brush A LOT with good success but would gladly move on to something better.



I am worthy because I'm a willing recruit.

Great PIF and guidelines, Adam. Not in.
I'm only looking for a couple razors to suit my taste for collecting. I can only shave with one razor at a time and it would wait on the shelf. I have all the blades I need for now. Russian also. I have seven brushes and I don't even shave everyday. So you can see, I don't qualify, which makes it all the more reason that I am not worthy.
I do say though, this is going to be a very interesting thread. Kudos to you Adam for a well thought out PIF.

I'm in . I really need an upgrade cu I'm current using hair remover and a butter knife. The hair remover stinks so bad, my wife left me,and my dog attacked me before he ran off. Now the alimony has left me penniless and living in a box under a viaduct in Michigan

 

I'm in. I've really been wanting try an Old Type.

I'm worthy of an upgrade because I'm currently on purchase sabbatical while we get the last of our student loans paid off. Been working on paying off all of our consumer debt for a little over 2 years. We've paid off about $38k in auto and student loans in the past two years, and have about $7k still to go.
