Was actually given 3 nice vintage Gillette DE razors. I just started using these and the one I like best so far is a slim adjustable , 1956 I believe . Trying some different blades. Also have a red tip and a flare.
Nice gift. I believe you will love the "slim" and I have yet to try out a red Tip or Flare, so Lucky Score for you. We would love to see a photo if you want to practice posting, that would be a great subject
Slims began production in 1961. As Steve @swarden43 stated we are group of folk that like to see the hardware. Oh and one last thing ... Welcome to the Den. We know you'll fit right in. So grab yourself a comfy chair, and give our threads a spin! Burma Shave
In case you had not seen the threads that explain how you can date the razor, try finding a number and a letter stamped in the bottom of the head either side of the handle. This will let us know exactly when it was produced (To within 3 months) Try this http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/safety-razor-id.24404/#post-421766 Cheers
Well as they say in the NFL " UPON FURTHER REVEIW" Lol I tried looking up the codes and I have for the red flare B-3.....plain flare ( not red nor blue) D-3....and my adjustable I can't seem to be able to make out the marks .
Try taking a cotton swab and some toothpaste to the razor head, that is if soap scum is an issue. If then you still have an issue take a pic and upload it.
Ugh....must be my crappy phone...when I choose the file it does nothing. I'll get on laptop later on.
Ahh, finally able to upload pic. Like I said , can't make out what marks are on adjustable. Was told it was from 1971.
Oh OK, I use it most days , I'll have to get a good pic on here . I'll try to find the marks, break out the magnifying glass.
