Vintage, lesser known razor handles you'd like to see made again

I think most of us like the well known vintage handles like Darwins - but how about the lesser known vintage ones that people don't see so often but are still, to you, something you'd love to see brought back to life again. Maybe in a stainless steel version...

The one I am looking at is the vintage Spanish Gurelan that I just bought. Not sure why but there is something about that handle I really like...I can see it in 10cm, stainless steel and I may or may not already have inquired about having one made...

The other handle is the rather recently Tradere handle. I really like mine but they seem to be near impossible to find these days:

The only other handle I could think of is the Swedish Swing handle - but that had already been turned into a modern reality over on TSR (it looked fantastic)

Any handles you think of when it comes to something like this?

[IMG]The aluminum Silver Star handle, maybe about 25% bigger and longer. I'd buy one in a second.

Also, the Lady Pomco, again about 25-50% longer.

That first one of yours looks like a Jedi's shaver. Very cool.

    Those are two great suggestions!
I've been talking with James at Wolfman and so far, of the razors I've shown him he says he can recreate them in stainless steel...

Glad you like them but for me, stainless would be out; I prefer lighter over heftier (but either would be a big seller, I'd bet...just make 'em bigger). I don't even want to think about how tough the Pomco might be to redo, but I'm not a machinist.

Or maybe bring back something uber-rare....the Darwin Prototype:

    Durham Duplex handle.

They are not all that hard to get, and they work with most three piece razors, so I doubt the interest would be all that high. They are a fantastic handle though.

    Edit:

My vote would be for a Darwin deluxe handle, designed to work with Gillette (i.e. "standard") three piece razors. It's just a stunning looking handle design.
If your machinist can get the cost down to $25-30, sign me up for one or two.

The Darwin Deluxe is indeed stunning. I think $25-30 for a machined stainless steel version is unfortunately unrealistic as it would most likely be north of $100 :(

I like the segal razor, but don't want to hunt blades.

I put nearly a full box of mint Segal blades in the last travel box I participated in (a year or two ago). Someone here may still have them.

Yeah, the Durham is a great catch-all replacement handle.

I'd also like to see a handle that replicates the tread on the Red Tip. That Tradere has me picturing the RT's grip on a long-ish handle with those flares on both ends (that'd limit to use only with flat bottom plates, though).

And the more I think of it, that Old Republic lightsaber handle in the O.P. would be really cool to have in aluminum or stainless. Of everything on this thread so far, I'd vote for that 1st.

Now that I think of it...with the different finishes that are now possible to do on one handle (powder coat, anodizing, etc), someone might corner a tiny geek shaving market by duplicating Star Wars lightsaber pommels as razor handles. Avoiding Imperial entanglements would be simple enough...call the Vader model "The Dark Lord," Luke's "The New Hope," Kenobi's "The Old Guard," etc.

I want a handle out of whatever comes of this idea. :)

I saw them, and a segal razor also, they frightened me.
I was afraid I would love them more than anything else, and be doomed to chasing no longer made blades.

I'd used two of those blades with that very razor. It was an average shave, for a carbon; nothing spectacular. Just a novelty to be able to say "I'm one of the only guys alive to have had a complete, original Segal shave" for whatever that's worth (absolutely nothing).

I shouldn't but the more I look at that handle, the more I want one. I wonder what Mr. Bulb might be up for swappin'... :p
