Interested in getting some voskhod blades. I use Astra sp now in all my razors. How do they compare to Astra? Any opinions will help. Thank you

    Voskhods
    Astra SP
    Polsilver Super Iridiums

all very good blades. I am a big fan of the Voskhods, and find them to be an improvement by a slim margin on the Astras. You will enjoy them i believe. It is very dependent to the razor it goes in

For me Voskhods are slightly smoother and forgiving. But the Astra is also a fine blade that I use sometimes. Voskhod is one of my rotation blades that I use with 2 of my vintage razors.

I find Voskhods to be a very smooth blade. They are one of a half dozen or so I keep in bulk.

Sweet blades, they work well in all my razors, i find them better on a 2nd use which is odd for me as i toss most blades after each shave. :)

Voskhods are excellent blades. I also find them more forgiving than Astra, but just as sharp.

Please explain how a blade can be "forgiving."

I consider a blade forgiving if I can make a mistake without drawing blood. For example, Feather blades are very sharp, but will draw blood if I make a mistake, such as not paying enough attention, or a small slip. I don't get the same punishment when I use Voskods... maybe due to the teflon coating on the Voskhod.

Perhaps I am just confusing sharpness with forgiveness... Feathers are sharper than Voskhods.

Voskhods over Astra, any day of the week. I let my wife use the Astras. She has stubble of steel, and cannot tell the difference. She's just happy not to be using carts anymore.

Voskhods are one of my top 2 blades.
For me, Astras are 4 steps below using a rusty tuna can lid.

I recently tried voskhod for the first time. It gave a very smooth and irritation free shave. It was not quite as close as I'm used to with the Astra SP. Also, it started tugging after 3 shaves where I usually get 4-5 out of an Astra. Great blade, superior to others I've tried, but not my top choice

I too have found that the quality of their shave depends greatly on the razor and the face they are used with. My hair is fairly fine, and my skin sensitive, and these are my favorite so far. I just ordered 100.

Voskhod or Polsilver? I found some polsilvers and have used them in my top three razors and have been getting great shave. How do polsilvers compare to voskhods?

I know some people say Voskhods are similar to Astra SP. I don't think so.

I find most blades to be very good. That being said, Voskhod's and Astra SP's are my 100 blade purchases.

I have found that I get irritation using any blade with Chromium on it. The feel of a Voskhod is great but a few minutes later the burning just isn't worth it. GSB are basicly the same blade with Platinum replacing the Chromium. GSB are my favorite blades.
