I picked up this Wade and Butcher some time ago for a few bucks in an antique store. There was quite a bit of pitted rust in the pivot and on the spine, but the blade face and edge were fine. Turned out not too bad. Started with steel wool, 800, 100 and 2000 wet dry sandpaper and then some Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish...and a bit of TLC and elbow grease. Will get this on the stones in the next few days.

Can anyone estimate the date on this razor? I am thinking between 1850 to 1890?

That is cool. I have some rusty straights I need to work on. Maybe I will after seeing your results.
